Salutacions!

Boy is it hot!! Over 100 degrees! This is why I left Texas. Not the only reason, of course, but a major one. Tomorrow will only get hotter. My poor cats sit on the couch and bask in the cool jet stream of the AC. I feel sorry for Chase as he has a full blown fur coat. As much I brush the poor guy, he is still covered in thick, white fur. He is like an animated stuffed animal. Tomorrow is going to be sweltering - no one will sit on the windowsill.

The ringing has NOT stopped. I will be seeing an ENT, but until them RRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGG!!! Very annoying. Between the left ear and the right eye (corneal transplant) - sheesh!! At least the eye pressure is down - 25- today. Also, the scars on my hands (from the second degree burns I gave myself lighting the oven - yes, its older than my mother) are finally fading; no more sausage fingers. This has not been a good health year for me. I am hoping this is IT for a few years.

Work, was work. I will miss J and O when they leave. I have had a nice break from the copier this summer. I have felt a bit self-conscious having three interns trail me at court. I just hope they learned a bit. Okay, well back to the sweltering heat. Good night!

Have you ever noticed how books usually have the authors picture in the back flap of the cover? Why? Is the author so embarrassed by their airbrushed picture to have displayed on the front flap or (shudder) the front cover? Perhaps they are embarrassed by their work. I remember being told never to write a word you would not want your mother to read. My mother is quite liberal, so as long as I do not tell my sister to shut up, I should be okay.

Today was a LONG day. Over slept, never a good thing. My tortoiseshell cat Cleo is three years old today. I sang Happy Birthday to her, but in true cat fashion she yawned and pointedly looked at her treats. I got the hint. Ran out of the apartment in a rush. Then the bus was late. The good thing was I was able to read on the bus, currently enjoying The Game of Thrones+ A Book of Ice and Fire, and did not want the ride to end. Rushed to the office and found my three student interns all dressed for court. It made me smile.

I conducted the fastest intake I have ever done - literally about 3 minutes long. Lady has an attorney and does not want to change. Nice to see you, bye! Off to court. Nothing resolved, only modified. Return in eight weeks. Thai food break. Back uptown and write, write, write. I love to read fiction, but realize I spend all my time writing non-fiction. Figures. Finished my day making a client who has been waiting over a year and a half for great news very happy. Back on the bus and home.

Another round of Happy Birthday Cleo and some wet cat food. Chase is purring like it is his birthday! Watched the Simpsons and realized I forgot my medicine pouch at the office. Will not panic! But it seems like an early morning tomorrow. Decided to start a blog. Put my picture on top because 1) I am proud of this self-portrait and b) I am not ashamed of my words.
